About Kazakh Service Centre and Our Services in Canada

Kazakh Service Centre used to have several representatives at various territorially-divided locations across Canada since 2009. However, for centralized customer-oriented focus, recently we consolidated our service support operations to Ottawa only. Now our clients from all over Canada can send their documents to a single location in Ottawa and get a more efficient customer service.

We strive to provide high-quality services to organizations, companies and private individuals in Canada on Kazakhstan visas and other consular documents (e.g., legalization of documents). Kazakh Service Centre can save you time hassle-free by undertaking all obligations from initial document review, assistance in preparation of documents until full completion. As part of this initiative, we have standardized and improved Application Packages for both visa and legalization services (please read below).

Kazakhstan Visa Types and Application Packages

The area to the left contains general information about visa regime between Kazakhstan and other countries.

In summary, Kazakhstan clearly separates types of visas into private, business, work, tourist, transit, etc. If you have a Work Permit from Kazakhstan and plan to work either rotational or residential jobs, then you need to apply for work visa. If you don’t have the actual Work Permit and plan to visit Kazakhstan with any other business reason (including consultancy or installation works), then you need to apply for business visa. If you are a former Kazakhstan citizen with a Canadian passport, then most likely you cannot apply for tourist visa (you need private visa). However, you (as well as your spouses/common law partners and children) can get a single-entry private visa for duration of up to 90 days without the Letter of Invitation (LOI) unlike other Canadians whose stay under single-entry visa (private, business, tourist) is limited to maximum of 30 days (LOI is also not required). Nonetheless, Canadians (not former citizens of Kazakhstan) can get a double-entry tourist visa without the LOI for duration of up to 90 days but each single stay would be limited to maximum of up to 30 days.

The menu to the left contains links to specific Visa Application Packages for each typical visa type. Each Package contains Checklist, Instructions and all Templates you need to apply for that Kazakhstan visa. Please read the Instructions thoroughly if you want your documents to be processed without any delays. If you cannot see the visa type you need to apply for or have any problems with the PDF forms, please contact us.

Kazakhstan Document Legalization Requirements and Application Packages

The area to the right contains general information about foreign public documents acceptance by Kazakhstan.

Thus, for documents coming from Canada to be formally recognized in Kazakhstan, they have to pass through 3 stages:

  1. Notarization by a Canadian Lawyer, Notary Public, Commissioner of Oaths, Student-at-Law.
  2. Authentication at the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT).
  3. Consular Legalization at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Canada.

Kazakh Service Centre provides document services for all three stages above as well as superlegalization in Kazakhstan (usually, not required). The menu to the right contains links to various Application Packages for our typical document services. Depending on the state of your document (original or notarized) and your required service type (either all three stages above or just a specific step), choose the relevant Application Package.

Each Package contains Checklist, Instructions and all Templates you need to apply for a specific service type. Please read the Instructions thoroughly if you want your documents to be processed without any delays. If you have any questions or problems with the PDF forms, please contact us.

Services For Citizens of Kazakhstan

In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, all citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who came to Canada for permanent residence must obtain consular registration in the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Canada.

Starting from January 1, 2015 all citizens of Kazakhstan (including those returning from overseas for permanent residence in Kazakhstan) have to be registered at their place of residence in Kazakhstan (similar to propiska during Soviet times). Thus, such citizens of Kazakhstan who permanently resided in Canada have to be removed from consular registration at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Canada.

Before June 2013, you can extend the validity of your passport at the Kazakhstan Embassy in Canada only once for 1 year term. However, this is no longer possible so you would need to apply for new passport via Embassy of Kazakhstan in Canada.

Document requirements for authentication and legalization for Kazakhstan citizens slightly differ from those for Canadian citizens.

In accordance with recently legislation changes, Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan abroad can issue letters confirming forfeit or loss of citizenship for various reasons. Double citizenship is not allowed in Kazakhstan so one would have to surrender the Kazakhstan passport upon acquring Canadian citizenship. Please note that, as of December 2010, former Kazakhstan citizens (now Canadian) at the time of visa application may need to provide copy of their Loss of Citizenship Certificate or some other proof that the passport had been returned. Those, who had not received Permit for Permanent Residence in Canada, will also need to return Kazakhstan Internal ID Card and Military Ticket.

Canadian provinces require documented proof of 3-4 years of driving experience in Kazakhstan to issue proper licence to drive a light vehicle, SUV or small truck without limitations. Such official сonfirmation document can be obtained either from Kazakhstan Road Police or from Embassy of Kazakhstan in Canada.

You can also add children’s data into your Kazakhstan passport at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Canada.

All persons older than 16 years of age, who arrived in Canada and due to various reasons (marriage with Canadian citizens, receival of permanent resident status, etc.) decided to permanently live abroad, need to get proper permission of Kazakhstan authorities after returning Kazakhstan ID and Military Ticket. Lack of such approval may cause document processing problems in the future such as rejection to extend validity of passport and to perform consular registration. If such permit had not been secured in Kazakhstan prior departure for Canadian permanent residence, then it can still be obtained via Embassy of Kazakhstan in Canada.

Passports can only be issued or exchanged by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Canada to persons who were duly permitted and registered by Kazakhstan to live permanently in Canada (i.e., they must have the stamps in their passports “Departure to Canada for Permanent Residence Permitted” and “Registered with Consulate”), students and citizens of Kazakhstan working in Canada on a contract. Certain emergencies (e.g., stolen passport) may exist so please contact the Embassy directly. All other citizens who came to Canada on a tourist or private visit visa need to exchange their passports on arrival in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

You can request various documents from Kazakhstan via the Embassy such as acts of civil status, evidence of social-legal nature (e.g., work experience, salary, pensions, education, academic and scientific degrees, state and official awards, facts of unfounded repressions, deportation and confiscation of property, military service, police certificates, participation in labour camps) being stored in state or organizational archives.

Kazakh Service Centre can provide assistance with aforementioned services. Please contact us for a quotation.
